Buying a piece of property or land before selecting an architect

The most common question that we receive from our potential clients is, “I’m thinking of buying a piece of property on which to build my dream home. Is it too soon to contact Associated Development Services Corporation?”

The short answer to this question is a resounding “No.” When you’re searching for a property on which to build your dream home, you should begin working with an Architect as a part of your property search. Depending on the style of home you want to build, the kind of construction you’d like employed, and any specific views or features that are a part of your plan, it is important to begin working with an Architect (Hey, that’s us!) that can help you avoid major pitfalls that your real estate agent could miss.

For example, if you want to build a home that has a great outdoor area for entertaining, you want to ensure that area you have envisioned receives enough sunlight, is properly protected from the elements, and meets your expectations. An architect will analyze the property and compare it with your vision to validate that it will meet your needs.
